Great, You've read the above scripture; now it's time to interpret the scripture that You just read, with the scripture that You just read:
Now, in the first two verses of what You just read, in John 7:37 and 38 Jesus tells us, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water". And to understand what Jesus is saying, You need to know what Jesus has to drink, when He says, "Come unto me and drink". Which is revealed in the forth verse of what You just read, in John 4:10 Jesus tells us, "If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him and he would have given thee living water". You see, when Jesus said in John 7:37, "If any man thirst let him come unto me and drink", according to John 4:10, the beverage being offered was Living Water. Therefore, using scripture to interpret scripture, what Jesus is saying in John 7:37 and 38 is this, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink living water. He that believeth on me as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water".
Then in the third verse of what You just read, in John 7:39 the Apostle John tells us, "But this spoke he of the Spirit", revealing unto us that the Living Water is the Spirit. Therefore, using scripture to interpret scripture again, the true meaning behind what Jesus is saying in John 7:37 and 38 is this, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink the Spirit. He that believeth on me as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of the Spirit". And what's taking place here is a transfer of the Spirit from the belly of Jesus, to the belly of the believer through the Word Of God; and these next two verses illustrate this transfer.
In John 6:63 Jesus tells us, "It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you [speaking of ¹the Word Of God], they are Spirit, and they are life". Did You hear it? Jesus said, "The words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit". When Jesus spoke the Word Of God, the Spirit was coming forth from his belly, because the Word Of God is Spirit. Then in 1-Thessalonians 1:5a the Apostle Paul tells us, "For our Gospel [speaking of ¹the Word Of God] came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost [Spirit]". Did You hear it? The Apostle Paul said, "For our Gospel [speaking of ¹the Word Of God] came not unto you in word only, but also in the Holy Spirit". When the Apostle Paul spoke the Word Of God, the Spirit was coming forth from his belly, because the Word Of God is Spirit. In the first verse, John 6:63, the Spirit is flowing from the belly of Jesus; and in the second verse, 1-Thessalonians 1:5, the Spirit is flowing from the belly of the believer. And for Two-Thousand Years, from Jesus, to this present day, the Spirit has been transferred in that very same way: from believer, to believer, through the Word Of God.
And this transfer of the Spirit through the Word Of God is verified elsewhere in the Bible. In Galatians 3:2 the Apostle Paul says, "This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith (The Bible clearly teaches we are not saved by the works of the law; therefore by the process of elimination we must receive the Spirit by the hearing of faith: the hearing of the Word Of God.)?" In 1-Corinthians 2:4 the Apostle Paul tells us, "And my speech and my preaching [speaking of ¹the Word Of God] was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power". Then in 2-Corinthians 3:6 He tells us, "Who [speaking of Christ Jesus] also hath made us able ministers of the new testament [speaking of ¹the Word Of God]; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life". And finally in Ephesians 5:25c and 26 the Apostle Paul tells us, "Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify [set it aside] and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word". Did You hear it? The Apostle Paul said, "The washing of Water by the Word". The Water [speaking of the Spirit], is by the Word: the Spirit is a product of the Word Of God. The Word Of God is the Spirit or Living Water that would come forth from a man's belly.
